Semana Santa 2012: Good Friday

I don't really have the plan of doing the sacrificial walk. I just said that I'll be watching it passing us by to save my energy. There were 95 floats that joined the Good Friday procession as I have estimated. They're not in exact order, sorry. By the way, Baliuag, Bulacan is the original district who introduced this well-known long procession that showcases life-sized tableaux of Christ.

SENAKULO

We've got different religions in the World. I am in a Roman Catholic religion and I just really want to give an emphasis with the Catholic's culture of having tableau of Christ. In and out of the Church, we have them, up to the altar down from our very own backyard (groto) and that's the major thing that the other religions are questioning about. It was even said in the bible, that God does not want us to praise and honor statues. I've got an explanation about the concern. We don't really honor statues, they're just the reflection of the Son of God, and it's Jesus Christ whom we praise. We don't want to get misled of imagining what Christ's face is like so for a clearer vision, we rely on what the tableau pictures us. It's like looking at your girlfriend/boyfriend's picture in your wallet. You hold and kiss it but you don't honor and worship the picture itself. The purpose is to remind you how does he/she look like. That's it!

HAVE A BLESSED HOLY WEEK
